Step Eight to Becoming a GOOGLE Ninja- Cool Features Shorten it, Just a Little Bit

      If you can master Google, you are well on your way to becoming a tech ninja or at least impressing your friends.  Yesterday we talked about Google hosting the images from Life Magazine.  Today we will talk about some more of the cool things Google puts out there for your enjoyment like the Google URL Shortener.  Just go to Goo.gl and paste in your long URL and it will give you a short URL.  Now if you use Twitter a lot I know you must be aware of using shortened URLs in your tweets, but another good way to use them is if you are making QR codes with URLs.  The shorter the URL is the more white space you have in your QR code and the easier it is to read.  Sometimes if you don’t have a way to share URLs with students, it makes it easier to write a shortened URL on the board instead of the original.  Check back tomorrow for Step Nine to Becoming a GOOGLE Ninja.
